Yomawari: Lost in the dark

Post by SteppeJugs »

There's been some tables done for the previous Yomawari titles but none for this one so I thought of attempting my hand on finding out health/stamina but I'm fairly inexperienced at this.
Previous endeavours have been easier since there's been exact values/ways to scan for things like health, money etc in other games.

Yomawari: Lost in the dark runs on a one hit kill system and stamina regenerates as soon as you stop running.
Been attempting to follow some tutorials on how to search for unknown values but never been able to pin point even the stamina, cheat engine seems to get confused since I need to pause in between to search for "increasing/decreasing" value and I end up with zero results by the end of it.

Don't know if anyone has any tips on what I may be doing wrong or how I might be able to find the values.
Would be great to be able to have a god mode or inf stamina option so anything that could help me figure that out would be greatly appreciated!

You can check the box that says "Pause the game while scanning", or you can set a hotkey for "Pause the selected process" while you scan.
I don't have the game, so I can't help beyond that. Good luck.

Just wanted to offer some tips on how I found values like Stamina. Values like stamina will usually use float values. So instead of being exactly 50 it’ll be like 50.375. It also helps to set hotkeys in the settings so that you don’t need to switch windows so often or pause the game. I like to use “unknown” scan because even if you see a value, the hidden value could be way different.

Character and enemy locations will also use float values and I usually find those by narrowing it down as much as I can and freezing them to see if I can still move.

Finding the health value is usually simple too because you can do decrease and increase scans until it narrows it down. But because of the one hit kill system, it isn’t as simple as just finding the value and straight up disabling the kill instruction doesn’t work either.

In the previous Yomawari games, the value 3 was just the death state so it was way easier to zero in on that and modify it. I have no idea what Lost in the Dark is doing differently and it’s kinda beyond my current scope of skill ;( It helps to have assembly knowledge but it’s difficult to know exactly what’s happening and you sometimes end up just jumping over instructions and hoping for the best.
